Wohlfahrt durch Organisationen: Eine vergleichende Analyse des britischen und deutschen Vereinslebens

Forschungsfrage/Ziel:

Hauptziel des Projektes war die Untersuchung der Einflüsse lokaler und organisatorischer Kontexte auf die Entwicklung bürgerschaftlicher Einstellungen in Vereinen. Dazu wurden Vergleiche zwischen Aktivisten und Freiwilligen auf der Basis von Interviews mit Aktivisten und Freiwilligen in Aberdeen und Mannheim durchgeführt. Außerdem wurden repräsentative Stichproben in Großbritannien und Deutschland befragt. Trotz deutlicher Unterschiede in den organisatorischen Kontexten sind die Aktivisten und Freiwilligen in beiden Städten sehr ähnlich. Anders als erwartet erscheinen die Merkmale der Vereine für die Entwicklung bürgerschaftlicher Einstellungen nicht sehr wichtig.
